We have our first eggs!!!!!!
The boss and Dogos went down to the chicken coop after lunch to let the chickens out, and lo and behold, they found 2 eggs!!!!
After the girls’ exciting discovery, Middle Man decided to go scouting around outside to see if he could find any eggs outside of the coop.
Sure enough, he found this white one behind the barn. I expect there may be an egg or 2 more to be found. These first eggs are small but they’ll get larger with time.
Now it’s time to train the hens to lay the eggs in the nest boxes.
Wish me luck because I really have no foolproof plan where that is concerned, and let’s face it, chickens are not very smart.

But I’m not sure anything can top the kids' excitement upon their discovery today!
